Negative portrayals of cannabis users in the media are so common there is great potential for the children of medical marijuana patients to misunderstand cannabis’ medical use.

Parents who choose to use marijuana as a medical treatment face stereotypes not only from their peers, but their children are exposed to many of the negative stigmas that our society attributes to cannabis and its culture. (more…)

The pharmaceutical myth;
More than marijuana, part three

pharmaceuticalSocietally we have an ingrained trust in the medical profession. Prior to the technological era, the doctor was often the most wise, educated, and trustworthy person within the community, relied upon not only for medical treatment, but for advice, counseling, and direction.

Rather unfortunately, the same cannot necessarily be said of today’s doctors who are so intrenched in the health care system dictated by the wiles of insurance companies. This combined with ever present pressure from pharmaceutical and medical technology companies to prescribe and employ their latest and greatest treatments, produces doctors who reflect their environment.

MMJ Edibles Bill Sponsor Presents
“Pot is bad M-ok” on Label

This is from a Westword Latest Word Post about a edibles packaging sample that Nancy Acree presented to the House Judiciary Committee.

Acree is the House Sponsor of HB11-1250 that initially called for the ban of all edibles, but now, if passed,  would set regulations in place for the packaging and labeling of edibles.

The sample packaging that Acree presented to the committee featured a label on which, in place of an actual disclaimer, has  ‘legally and governmentally approved statement describing that “Pot is bad M-ok“‘, this being a quotation of a guidance counselor in a popular satirical cartoon South Park. Local Edibles Company Owner Calls
for Ban on Butane Extraction, Why?

This Westword Latest Word Post states that Wanda James an owner of a local edibles manufacturer, is calling to ban the use of subcritical butane cannabis extracts.

HB1250 – Introduces Outright Ban on Edibles

This is a link to a piece of legislation introduced yesterday to the Colorado House of Representatives. It’s a short one (hardly 2 pages) and it explicitly calls for the prohibition of edible cannabis as a method of using cannabis as a medicine. (more…)
